I’m Lorena, though in the world of photography I go by the name Cero Negativo. At the age of 15, I began experimenting with an old Minolta that belonged to my father. Curiosity—and the vast world of online forums—led me into a deeply intuitive, self-taught journey into analog photography. Today, at 27, I find in black and white the language that best reflects my sensitivity. I work in an artisanal way, aiming for each image to be the conscious result of a sequence of decisions. For over four years, I’ve been living on the move. Every place I’ve called home has offered me new ways of seeing. That constant journey is an essential part of my process, and everything I learn along the way becomes, in some way, the signature that marks my images.
